Data Science Burundi Research Assistant
Data science Burundi is a research initiative that seeks to create interaction amongst data scientists, enthusiasts, government, academia, NGO, private sector, and civil society organisations keen on data science and its use for social good.
We are looking for a motivated research assistant to support the development and communication of data driven solutions in Burundi.
Requirements
1. A multi-discipline background including statistics, communication through social media, project management.
2. Strong quantitative, analytical and ICT skills (preferably in at least Microsoft Excel).
3. Interest and/or expertise in the areas of health or climate change.
4. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
5. Well-developed and professional interpersonal and communication skills (preferably English and French).
6. Effective time-management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
• To work closely with the research team to develop an optimal strategy to communicate the research outputs to the general public.
• To assist with project management and report writing.
• Be part of research projects from the design phase to the implementation.
